Subject: Don't give up! :)

Comment: I just want to tell new crocheter's: Don't be afraid of new stitches when looking at patterns. When I first started I skipped a lot of patterns because the names of the stitches were so overwhelming. Then I found a site that explained how to do all those different stitches. Most of them were just a combination of stitches I already knew! SO...take a breath, find out how to do the stitch then, decide if it's to much for you just yet. Be sure to remember it because soon enough it will be a piece of cake!

Subject: CROCHETING WITH BEADS

Comment: I've been crocheting for 30 years and always was afraid to crochet anything with beads. My great aunt made lovely beaded necklaces but I always thought I was too much of a klutz to handle a hook, thread and beads too. But one day I saw a video on You Tube where a lady made a beaded necklace and the idea clicked that I could do that too. And I have made 10 necklaces by crocheting thin wire and also using metallic gold and silver elastic thread and beads. They are lovely and I've had so many compliments on them. I am going to make sets of necklaces, bracelets and earrings for Christmas for the ladies I work with. Just goes to show you CAN teach an old dog new tricks!

Subject: Black pumpkin shrug

Comment: Hello to all in Crochet land. I am more of a knitter, but I love this website. I am nearly finished a black shrug made from the Pumpkin Shrug pattern. I needed something made quickly to keep the chill off my shoulders in my FREEZING (air-conditioned) office. Crochet appealed to me because it is quick, and I am a slow knitter. I have nearly completed the shrug and I am now turning it into a 'shracket' by adding a collar and sleeves. Once finished I shall trim with a row of a fuzzy black eyelash yarn. I have made the shrug from odd balls of black DK knit from my stash. So far I am pleased with the result, and it has not cost me anything. This is an ideal project for a near-beginner.

Subject: keep up the good work

Comment: I have to say that I am very pleased to see that so many young girls are picking up their hooks and yarn. I started crocheting when I was 14 and loved it from the start (I am now 37)
It is very relaxing and you can make some great things too. I started out making blankets - then moved on to doll outfits - now I am making childrens and adult clothing. You can do anything if you put your mind to it and be patient with yourself. Keep it up and have fun. And THANK YOU for this site - it is great!

Subject: iheartcrochet

Comment: i just love to crochet! my mom was teaching me how to knit when i was really little and other sorts of crafts- but i sucked at them or didn't have the concentration to sit through a project. then, i think when i was 11, i found this old box of yarn, and needles and most importantly-HOOKS-under my bed, and i re-learnt the single crochet stitch i sort of already knew, and dc and all those beautiful sts, from this old book that is pretty much fallen apart. now i crochet all the time {i'm 13 almost 14 now} often with patterns from this site. yah gotta love tapestry crochet and the whole art in general. i even taught a friend to crochet, and am working on a second one now. so seriously, grab a hook.

Comment: I admire the young ladies who learned to crochet and now enjoying making crocheted items. I have never seen younger girls engage in this craft, that is why I am surprised and really admire them. Keep on crocheting, young ladies!

Subject: relax

Comment: when you crochet make sure you are comfortable and not working too hard. if you feel you are working hard that is because you (may be) doing it wrong.

Subject: Crochet

Comment: I have enjoyed these stories. My cousin taught me to crochet when I was little, while she was babysitting me. (Now that I'm grown, I realize she was trying to keep me out from underfoot..) Shell Stitch projects are my favorite. It is so comforting to work with soft yarn, and you can make so many useful and decorative things. Crocheting is a great way to "unwind" after a hectic day.

Subject: think

Comment: When you crochet, sometimes you think it's hard. But think how nice it will be in the end. That will make you go faster, think it's easy, and love crochet.
